How do I login?

If you already have an Arkyves account, simply click on the ‘Login’ button in the upper right corner of the homepage. If you do not have login credentials or are at an institution that does not subscribe to Arkyves, let us know at info@arkyves.org and we will arrange a trial through your institution. How do I change my personal settings?

In order to do so, once logged in click on your username > Settings. Here you can import your Iconclass Clipboard ID (see Iconclass FAQs 1 and 2 (where?)), select your language preferences and choose whether or not to display Iconclass notations when browsing items. (See Help > slide 4. Arkyves user settings)

How do I create and manage a list?

To create a personal list, click on your username > Lists, or simply click on the ‘Lists’ button on the top of the page. Here you can easily browse through other users’ lists and create a new one. To add an item to your list, simply click the ‘Add to list’ button and select the target list. The same process applies for adding all the results of a query to a list. Options and settings can be managed on a specific List page. (See Help > slide 8. Create your own datasets with the "Lists" tool)

How do I annotate and edit an item?

Once logged in, the ‘Edit’ button will be displayed at the top of the page when browsing an item. To add an annotation, simply click on it and you will be able to comment the record (notes will be displayed in the ANNOTATIONS area of the item), add an Iconclass concept (either by copying it from Iconclass or by importing your Clipbord > see Iconclass FAQs 2), add a URL or a person. How do I create an Iconclass Clipboard?

Once you have created an Iconclass account, you can start saving Iconclass concepts on your automatically generated Clipboard. To access it, simply click on the ‘Clipboard’ button on the top right of the page. Here you can find all your saved concepts and the unique ID number to export the Clipboard to Arkyves and other external applications. (See Help > Help with Iconclass > slide 1. How to I use my Iconclass Clipboard in Arkyves?

To import the content of your Clipboard into Arkyves, simply use its unique ID number. You can enter it directly into your Settings > Ic clipboard id (see Arkyves FAQs 2), or use it to annotate an item with multiple Iconclass concepts by clicking on an item and then Edit > IC > get IC clipboard.
